From now on you can get the MY RUIN song LONG DARK NIGHT as a first appetizer of the upcoming album GHOSTS AND GOOD STORIES FOR FREE!
HERE you can download the song for a short time!
GHOSTS AND GOOD STORIES will be released – due to production-related reasons one week later – on August 27th 2010 in Germany, August 30th in the UK as well as on August 31st in the US and contains 13 tracks of pure heavy honesty that features intimate lyrics, intense music and an identity all its own, proving that like bottle of Whisky or fine wine, MY RUIN just keep getting better with time.
Produced by Mick Murphy and Josh Lynch, ‘Ghosts and Good Stories’ is a concept album centered around scripture inked in blood, sweat and tears, a testament to the love MY RUIN share as a band and as a couple which they continue to create together against all odds and outside forces.
LONG DARK NIGHT describes an insomnia fueled struggle to find the muse lost in sleepless evenings of losing faith, awake with the inability to create. This is a heavy metal torch song if ever there was one, paying homage to those little slices of death and life after midnight where the revelation will not be televised.
Get the song NOW and spread the word: MY RUIN are back and better than ever!
The first reviews are pouring in and they are smashing!
Here is the gospel according to the press:
“Ghosts and Good Stories is gracefully bone-chilling, filled with teeth-chattering terror, and leaves your unworthy soul melted in a puddle on the floor. A masterpiece! 10/10″

“Pantera attitude, Sabbathesque seventies poison, dirt southern touch, hardcore pride and a courageous tribute to Rollins Band: this is ‘Ghosts and Good Stories’! My Ruin are back with the right dose of high-handedness and brought to us one of the most sincere, shouted loud, sexual and intense records of this year! 8/10”
Simone Sacco – Metal Hammer Italy

“This collection of beautifully told stories that unwind and unravel before our ears has plenty of bark and a bite to match. Ghosts and Good Stories is an onslaught from start to finish that doesn’t let up; there’s no room for fluff, no room for floundering and certainly no room for questions. My Ruin are pioneers of their own brand of metal that amalgamates so many different styles it can’t be pigeonholed or categorised.”
Lynsey Wright – Thrash Hits UK
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“My Ruin have mutated into something truly monstrous in recent years, as the chemistry between Tairrie B and Mick Murphy has evolved and sprouted wicked wings. Ghosts And Good Stories picks up where 2008’s Throat Full Of Heart left off, with an exhilarating barrage of warped stoner metal riffs and blister-razing gutter-punk.8/10”
Dom Lawson – Metal Hammer UK
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“My Ruin’s sixth official full length album – is their strongest outing since A Prayer Under Pressure Of Violent Anguish from 2000. On the musical front ‘Ghosts And Good Stories’ surpasses everything the band has done thus far.”
Carl Begai – Brave Words Bloody Knuckles
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“This is a powerhouse of an album. It packs a lot of power both vocally and musically
which is what My Ruin has always done well. 4/5″
Mike Grey – Soundsphere Magazine
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“Ghosts and Good Stories vocals and riffs are full of power, an intense delivery from an experienced alternative metal band. 8/10″
Hugo Countinho – Creepy Insight.Com
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“Ghosts and Good Stories their sixth volume literally has to be their most unified, binding, creative, epic whirlwind of pure velocity to date, fact.”
Nickie Hobbs – Devolution Magazine
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
” ‘Ghosts And Good Stories’ is a perfect ode to the kind of grimy, smoke rock the band trade in.”
Darren Taylor – RockSound Magazine
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
“My Ruin have no interest in delivering antiquated chills and thrills. Instead Mick Murphy delivers a Southern-tinged, Sabbath-y guitar assault, over which Tairrie rails against religion, more religion and, most succinctly, the current crop of vapid female pop singers! 7/10”

Produced by Mick Murphy & Josh Lynch, ’Ghosts and Good Stories’ is a tale of rock & roll redemption and aural abuse with a conscious. 13 tracks of pure heavy honesty that metal fans can identify with positively featuring intimate lyrics, intense music and an identity all its own, proving that like a bottle of Whisky or fine wine, MY RUIN just keep getting better with time. The new album which was recorded at Entourage Studios in North Hollywood, Ca. & Weapons of Mass Productions in Santa Monica, Ca. showcases the multi-instrumentalist talents of Mick Murphy who not only wrote and co-produced but played guitar, bass and drums.
MY RUIN’s DIY philosophy includes a 25 minute film noir style enhanced video on the CD which was shot by the band and edited by Mick Murphy capturing the visceral power of MY RUIN in the recording studio from the drum room to the ghostly atmospheric vocal booth. When asked about the albums cover art Tairrie said “While I was creating the album artwork, I wanted the feeling to be otherworldly and dark, unlike anything we have done in the past and to set the mood for the music which I think it does. The new cover art is actually a vintage portrait from my family album. It’s a real photograph of my great grandparents in front of their home taken sometime in the early 1900’s which has been slightly altered. I came across the image last year as we were recording our new album and it just sort of spoke to me in a very haunting way. I was drawn to it over and over again while coming up with the albums title which is taken from the lead track ‘Diggin for Ghosts‘.

Who uses to be a fan of old Tairrie B hip-hop stuff, should get a look on DEATH WORK PROFESSIONALS, a side project of Tairrie, her husband Mick Murphy and fellows Rhiis Lopez and Josh Lynch who covered the hip-hop classic „Natural Born Killaz“ and shot a video for it, too!
Watch it here:
Hey JULIEN-K fans out there – check this out! Out street team member Jana produced a cool video for the forthcoming Germany tour of the JULIEN-K guys! Watch it right away…
And if you have a video yourself that you have created – give it to us! Send an email to info@tiefdruck-musik.de including the video link and we are willing to post it here on our homepage!
But for now – here is the video of Jana!
Here is the video to the song! Mick Murphy, one half of the brilliant MY RUIN, put a nice little video for the AC/DC cover song together. The song is now featured on the AC/DC tribute CD that can be found in the latest issue of Metal Hammer UK. Mick on drums or playing the guitar as well as Tairrie screaming into the mike – MY RUIN will show you some great pictures of the recordings and let you be part of the production process!
Ryan Shuck, Amir Derakh, Elias Andra and Brandon Belsky just got home from the European DEAD BY SUNRISE tour, released their album DEATH TO ANALOG in Europe and now they are even working on the follow up album already. The untitled piece is written and produced in the Level 7 Studios in Los Angeles right now. Church, lunatic friend of JULIEN-K, is allowed to film the recordings exclusively and gives us a really nice insight of the daily routine in the studio! Find the videos below!
Also, today Apr 27th 2010, the remix album DEATH TO DIGITAL X is released on Itunes. It contains some of unreleased remixes of the songs of their debut DEATH TO ANALOG! Click HERE and buy this record – desire to dance is guaranteed.
BLIND MYSELF are popular for producing the very special kind of music videos. In 2008 they were the first Hungarian band EVER played on MTV US and their inventive cartoon video for ‘Lost In Time‘ (Watch it HERE!) even got nominated as BEST VIDEO OF THE YEAR there. Now they shot a new, insane video – which we are not keeping back from you, of course!
‘Pomogácsok‘ is the second video of the album “Budapest, 7fok, eső” that was only released in Hungarian language so far. This is the reason why the guys did bother themselves to put English subtitles into the video – so enjoy the lyrics and the pictures, too. This is real entertainment! Have fun!
Tiefdruck-Musik has the world’s best fans and street team members, we all know that!
Here we have a new, really nice fan video made by Chris aka Qwerty05k with some impressive live shots of JULIEN-K to present DEATH TO ANALOG a little.
Thanks a lot, Chris!
